A meeting to discuss about the collaboration between Kathmandu University (KU) and Madan
Bhandari University of Science and Technology (MBUST) was held on January 24, 2023 at
KUSOM, Balkumari. Participants in the meeting were as follows:

2. Professor Rajendra Dhoj Joshi, President, MBUST
3. Prof. Achyut Wagle, Registrar, KU
4. Prof. Sanjay Nath Khanal External relations and Resource Generation Expert, MBUST.
5. Prof. Bal Chandra Luitel, Dean, School of Education, KU
6. Prof. Devi Prasad Bidari, Dean, School of Management, KU
7. Prof. Rishikesh Wagle, Dean, School of Law, KU,
8. Prof. Ekku Maya Pun, Dean School of Arts, KU
9. Other officials of KU. Officials and professors of KU also joined the meeting from
Dhulikhel and Pokhara online.

Prof. Bhola Thapa welcomed and highlighted KU’s willingness to collaborate and develop
partnership with newly established universities. Prof. Rajendra Dhoj Joshi made presentation
about the mission, objectives and thematic areas of MBUST for R & D. He also highlighted the
MBUST vision to develop as a world class university, and need of networking and collaboration
among the universities. KU officials and faculties shared thoughts on issues and concerns
related to higher education in Nepal and their willingness to collaborate and support MBUST. It
was agreed that further discussion will be made for mutual cooperation between the two
universities.
