Dr. Sabin Basi holding a Doctorate degree in Agricultural Science from the University of Bonn, Germany (2013) has more than a decade of national and international experience in R&D and Education in the Agricultural sector. He has gained expertise in several research sectors such as national policies, agriculture production system and value-chain, breeding and genetics, climate change resilience and organic agriculture, through several national and international research institutions such as Policy Research Institute (PRI), International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT, Nepal), International Rice Research Institute (IRRI, Philippines), Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Science (JIRCAS, Japan), Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST). Likewise, he has expertise in several development sectors through organizations including Green Energy Mission/Nepal (GEM/Nepal), Rural Infrastructure and Management Consultancy (RIMC), Center of Research for Environment, Energy and Water (CREEW). He has lectured and supervised undergraduate and graduate students of Biotechnology and Plant Breeding and Genetics at SANN International College (PU), Central Department of Biotechnology and Dept of Plant Breeding (TU) in the past. He is awarded by TWAS Young Scientist Award (UNESCO/NAST), and has led several R&D projects of NAST, UNDP, NARDF/ADB, JIRCAS. He has published above dozens of articles in reputed national and international peer-reviewed journals.
