Prof. Sanjay Nath Khanal is Resource Mobilization and External Relations, Consultant. He holds a doctoral degree from the University of Natural Sciences, Vienna. He obtained a PG Diploma in Environmental Science and Technology from IHE Delft, The Netherlands, and M. Sc. in Zoology from Tribhuwan University, Nepal.Prof. Khanal has served at Kathmandu University (KU), Nepal for around 26 years, before which he served at then, Royal Nepal Academy of Science and Technology for about nine years. He had contributed substantially to the institutional as well as academic and research programs developed in KU. Prof.Khanal has also served on various executive positions at KU including the positions of Head of Department, Director of Affiliation Affairs, Director of Planning and Student Affairs, Controller of Examinations and Member of Executive Council.
Prof. Khanal has supervised a large number of post graduate students including over ten Ph. D. students in different aspects of Environmental Science. His research areas include Environmental and Occupational Health, Air Pollution, Natural Resources, Protected Area Management, Solid Wastes and Aquatic Ecology. He has worked on many national and internationally collaborated research projects partnering with different universities and institutions. Prof. Khanal has more than 70 publications including a few books and book chapters. He has established a good network with professionals and institutions of his field globally. He is the President of Indoor Air Pollution and Health Forum Nepal and Professor at the School of Environmental Science and Management, Pokhara University, Nepal.
