Forest Biomaterial Program
Dr. Saurabha Bhattarai holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Chonbuk National University, South Korea. He has over a year of experience in research and education within chemical engineering. His expertise includes polymer synthesis, nanomaterials, wastewater treatment, hydrometallurgy, and biomass convergence. He has made significant contributions to his field, evident from his many publications in renowned peer-reviewed journals and presentations at international conferences. In addition to his research, Dr. Bhattarai has a strong background in academia. He has been a Visiting Faculty member at Kathmandu University and a Research Fellow at the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), where he worked on several projects, including biodiesel production from waste cooking oils, urban mining, and wastewater treatment. Dr. Bhattarai is dedicated to education, supervising and mentoring graduate students, and being involved in curriculum development. At Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology, he focuses on researching the utilization and valorization of forest biomass, developing bio-products, and the seasoning and treatment of timber. His technical skills and experience with various research analysis tools further highlight his importance in this field.
