Dr. Anupama Shrestha is an esteemed Assistant Professor at Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology. She holds a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from Kangwon National University, Republic of Korea, conferred in 2012. Korea Research Foundation provided scholarship for both her Master’s and Ph.D. degrees. With a rich research background, Dr. Shrestha served as a Research Professor at the Institute of Life Sciences and Biotechnology, Korea University, and later as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Division of Biotechnology, Jeonbuk National University, Republic of Korea. She has actively led Academic Partnership Project for Advance Organic Farming (APPA) at Kathmandu University Funded by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). Her research focuses on plant-microbe interactions and the biological control of plant diseases.
Dr. Shrestha has been an Adjunct Professor at Himalayan College of Agricultural Science and Technology (HICAST) since 2018. She also served as an Adjunct Professor at Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU) and Adjunct fellow at Institute of Agriculture and Applied Science (IAAS). She received the “Science and Technology Youth Award” from Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) in 2021 for her pioneering work in developing bio-inoculants from soil and plants to control diseases and enhance plant growth.
Recognized for her dedication to sustainable agriculture, Dr. Shrestha received the “Best Eco- Peace Leadership Fellow” Award from the Ministry of Environment, Republic of Korea, for her initiatives in raising awareness on organic farming among female farmers in Nepal. She is the founder and director of the Research Institute of Agriculture and Applied Science in Nepal. Dr. Shrestha has contributed significantly to the field with numerous peer-reviewed papers and manuals published in national and international journals.
